| 内容記述 | A electro-plated Co-Ni-P magnetic alloy film is very hopeful for high density magnetic recording media like magnetic disks and tapes. An influence of the electro-plating conditions of the Co-Ni-P alloy film was investigated on the magnetic properties and magnetic recording characteristics. The results obtained are as follows. (1) A non-linear relationship was found between the metallic ion fraction〔Co++/(Co+++Ni++)〕in the bath and the metal fraction 〔Co/Co+Ni〕〕in the alloy film. In electro-plating from the Co and Ni sulphamate bath, Co was deposited prior to Ni. (2) The P content in the alloy film was found to depend strongly on the alloy composition, showing a sharp decrease with increasing Co content near 85 mass % Co. This composition corresponds to the phase transformation in the Co-Ni binary alloy. (3) The value of coercive force Hc higher than 8×104A/m was obtained in the 85 mass % Co-15 mass % Ni alloy film. It is considered from the electron microscopic observation that the high value of Hc for the Co-Ni-P alloy film is caused by the deposition of submicron Co acicular particles. (4) For the magnetic recording characteristics, the high value of S/N over 40dB was obtained in the 85 mass % Co-15 mass % Ni alloy film. The S/N was found to be dependent on the alloy composition and, also, on the surface condition of substrate for electro-plating. | |||||
