At present the chemical treatment is widely employed to dewater sludge. Therefore, the influence of pH and x-potential affecting filtrablity of sewage sludge was investigated in this paper. The results were as follows : Optimum pH ranges that specific resistance is minimum, were in the 4.5 to 7 region. But x-potential did not always reach isoelectric point in the pH 4.5 to 7 region.
