| 内容記述 | The present study tries to predict the population of Nagaoka New Town which is located in Nagaoka, Niigata. First, a land use quantitative model was developed adding some revisions to the Aoyama model, in order to show the possible situation of the residential selection of the citizens in the future. Then, using this model, a series of policy simulations were conducted to find out how many people would be living in the new town in 1990 and in 1995, and the extent to which various polies will be effective in increasing the number of dwellers. Finally, it is emphasized that the location of job opportunities and commercial facilities near the new town, as well as some land use control in other areas are needed for the increase in the new town population. It might not be possible, however, to complete the new town project without decreasing the target population accompanying the reexamination of the land use plan. | |||||
