| 内容記述 | Today Japan is rapidly becoming an aging society. It is that the aged who is over sixty-five will occupy about 25 percent of Japanese population in 2020. thus in future medical care will be an unavoidable and an important problem for us. Many old people with dementia are included in the aged who needed medical care. Because the old people with dementia often behave themselves abnormally and wander with no definite object in view, special care which fits a degree of their dementia is necessary for them. The purpose of this study is to develop an automatic dementia diagnosis system which simply estimates the degree of dementia which is necessary for home care. We studied some conditions, a question item, learning time, remembering time, etc. and next developed an automatic dementia diagnosis system using these condition. This system consists of a personal computer (Power Macintosh 6200, Apple Computer, Inc.) and 17 inch multi scan color CRT display, Micro Touch Systems, Inc.) and is programmed with a tool soft (HyperCard version 2.3, Apple Computer, Inc.). An old person with dementia learn seven articles which have no relation each other on the display in this system. After the seven articles are hidden, they choose the same articles from twenty articles which also have no relation each other but contain previous seven articles. This system evaluates the degree of dementia according to the number of their correct answers. In a preliminary experiment with 15 subjects the correlation coefficient between the number of their correct answers obtained from this system and the score of HDS-R (the revised version of Hasegawa’s Dementia Scale) which appreciates dementia is found to be 0.734. | |||||
